Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I was reading at the new carnival of homeschooling a post about a nifty new poetry form that is sweeping the blogosphere. It is called fibs and is based on the fibonacci sequence. Its alot of fun! I wrote about it in my blog (with links to the original posts) and explained how it is done, plus an example of one of my own, or you can check it out at the carnival. I think it is something very easy and fun and even the littles can do it.
For you non-bloggers, here is a brief summary:
A short poem of 20 syllables, with the syllable count for each line based on the fibonacci sequence of 1/1/2/3/5/8.
Try it if you get a chance. It is fun and easy. Poetry and math all rolled into one!

Thanks for the heads-up!

I saw that, it sounds like a fun way to write poetry! I love how there are a few more syllables be flexible with than just the 17 of haiku. It is getting increasingly hard to put a days' thoughts into 17 syllables, and I often long for just a few more!

How
'bout
my next
blog will be
"Fibonacci of
a Blog Crazy Homeschooler"? Nah.

Man, that was hard (and not even very good )! I like the rhythm of the increasing length of lines though.

Awww, Theresa you are too sweet! How did you know I was sadly a little with envy over the sweeping success of this Fib stuff? I'm over it now.
