Has anyone seen Benjamin's Box and/or used Resurrection eggs with your children? I would appreciate your opinions. Thanks!

We do Resurrection Eggs on their own but have not done Benjamin's Box. My youngest son's godmother always brings the eggs on Easter and we take turns opening them and reading the scripture. The kid's really enjoy it and it is a meaningful activity for them.
And there are a couple mentions in this thread on Resurrection Eggs with ideas for making your own set at home (which is what ours have been).

Glad you brought this up! I just pulled my Resurrection Eggs out of my closet. I bought them last year but we did not use them. I would like to use them this year just have not thought it through yet.

I bought the book and the eggs last year. I read the story once and I think the kids enjoyed it. They loved the eggs. I think they played with them. Sorry, I'm sleep deprived too, as others are on this forum. I want to use both again this year, but I need to get the box of Easter books and decorations from my dh's office. I'm a little behind this year because of my little bundle of joy. She's napping now. I should be doing laundry or many other things besides using the computer.

We just pulled out our resurrection eggs today. In years past, I've always started using them 12 days before Easter. We've done 1 a day. We read the scripture and the story that goes along with them. My children then take turns guessing what's inside. Then we take turns hiding the one egg and letting them each find it. They love these eggs. I think this year we're going to try the resurrection cookies also.

I feel uncomfortable asking this, but I’m going to because I need some advice ...
I asked about this book because we will be reading it at an Easter party with close friends, a few who are Protestant. They are wonderful faithful people, but we obviously never talk nitty-gritty about religion; they know we are devoutly Catholic.
I do not feel comfortable pointing out in front of everyone that we do not believe the Eucharist is merely symbolic; I do not want to offend anyone, especially not dear friends. But I also don't want that part of the story to confuse my little guys.
How would you handle this?
My boys know our beliefs on this point, so it is quite possible one of them may speak up himself! Whatever the reaction, we will discuss it ourselves later.
I am glad to hear that the book, other than this one unfortunate point, is a good one.
I hope my question is not inappropriate ... I value the opinions held here.

I'm looking back at my post and realizing I sounded rather muddled ... I do that quite well.
What I wanted to say, is, if I had the book at home, I would read it with the boys beforehand and discuss this point with them, just as Elizabeth described re: the similarities and differences between Protestant and Catholic belief (as best I understand them).
But I don't have the book and the first time we read it will be at the party, within a mixed-faith group. It bothers me that the term "symbolic" will be read matter-of-factly, when we work so hard to help our children understand the reverse!
Obviously it won't be the time or place to have the "Some of Our Friends Believe Differently Than We Do" talk with my boys ...We haven't done that yet, but they have started asking questions (after being asked by friends why they have so many crosses in their bedroom ~ meaning the rosaries hung on the bedposts! )
Ack! I'm rambling again, sorry! I'm probably making a mountain out of a molehill as they say.
I would love to hear more ideas about the Resurrection eggs ... I didn't mean to de-rail an interesting thread. They sound like a neat idea!

So excited, my Benjamin's Box has just arrived. It's beautiful
I'm planning on nextt week making our own version of Resurrection eggs to go with the story and do it over Holy Week.
Some other wonderful Lenten/Easter books also arrived, I think I like them better than my Christmas books.

Thanks for the link, Mary. It seems most online places are sold out of commercial Resurrection eggs (of course this close to Easter I'm not surprised). I would like to make a homemade set to use next week; a lot of good info. in this thread.
