Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

another Dianna Hutts Aston/Sylvia Long book is coming out this spring?!!!

They are the fabulous author-illustrator team responsible for:
An Egg is Quiet
A Seed is Sleepy

...which are very highly acclaimed here! I love them.

The new book, coming out in April, is A Butterfly is Patient.   I can't wait.

Yes!      And I meant to come back here and say so but I got distracted last night and forgot.

I had to be patient to wait for this title, but our library FINALLY got a copy. Got it today, and it's fabulous, as usual!

...and another new book to this lovely series (2012)

A Rock is Lively by Dianna Hutts Aston, Sylvia Long

I especially like this one since I enjoy geology. It is very well done like the rest of the series. My favorite is the "A rock is mixed up" pages - it has the various individual minerals pictured (beautiful colors in the illustrations) and then the facing page has the rock that is made up of all those minerals.

A great time to get the book as Earth Science Week starts next week.
