Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I might get in trouble for recommending this one as it is unavailable in the US. I did see you can order it in the UK at Amazon. So maybe that would work?

Anyways, Jesus's Christmas Party is way way fun and cute. There is nothing real religious about it, nothing tear-jerky...but the illustrations will make you crack up! And when you read it with expression, even the teenagers crack up!

It's about the innkeeper. M & J come and request a room and the innkeeper is slightly annoyed and he gives them a room out back. The innkeeper goes to bed. Then J comes and asks for a small blanket, and the innkeeper is visibly huffy and gives him one and goes back to bed. Then shepherds come and knock on the door, the innkeeper is annoyed at being disturbed again and yells "around the back!" and goes back to bed. The wise men come and wake him and he yells louder "around the back!" and goes back to bed. Then all of sudden, he awakens to angels singing, a bright light shining on the inn and he jumps out of bed and yells "That's all I need!". So he huffs and puffs and HE goes around back and he sees the manger...and he is silent and overwhelmed. Everyone turns to him and says "SHHHH the baby is sleeping". And his heart is softened when he looks at the babe's face.

It is so cute and a little bit different than most Christmas books. My mother actually got it for me years ago after her office did a picture book exchange. Each worker read the book the chose after they picked it. After whoever read this one, all the workers kept stealing it from each other! In the end my mom didn't get it, but she did go straight to B&N and bought more copies!

(My first picture book recommendation!)

Don't worry, Kacky! It's available in the US!

A bit pricey, but available used. I've put it on our library request list so we can check it out!

Thanks for the recommendation. Sounds fun!

ETA: When I posted this there are several copies (used) available in IL, GA, etc. That may change if you guys snap those copies up
