Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm looking for some fun geography resources for my middle schooler, who's kind of outgrown our old faves (Scrambled States of America, for ex.).

She needs to brush up on countries around the world - identifying them on maps and by continent - and on state capitals.

All advice welcome!

PS - We have Uncle Josh's Outline Maps already.

We really like the Shepard's games, too. Members of our family get really competitive with each other - trying to best a sibling's score (or beat mom). It does a great job of instilling location of states. My 9 year old has a great grasp of states locations and shapes.

A couple months ago I mentioned using the Shepard software along with a book we had come across this summer - How the States Got Their Shapes. The book covers each state and the reasons behind the borders - why they are the shapes they are. It was really interesting. It would be an interesting stand alone for US geography study for middle school/high school, but I found it particularly interesting to use it with the place a state activities - makes you look at the shapes in a different way.
