I don't believe we have a complete listing of the Vision Books here at 4 Real. Since it often comes up I'm making a thread for it. This list is from Love2Learn. Hopefully it will be easy to find in searches here. I'll update later to include the topic (if it's not clear in the title) and I would like to chronologically order them as well. Books with asterisks are reprinted by Ignatius Press. The others are out of print, but so worth finding if you can  . Those with a ^ - question about whether they were ever published - doesn't appear they were.

That's an amazing list, Mary. I can help you put the titles in chronological order sometime. I think that would be a great resource! I have Reading the Saints by Janet McKenzie and she has them all listed in chronological order in her book.

This list is great. Thank you. I was wondering, what age would you say these books are for? Do they have lots of pictures? How much writing? Just to get a general idea. Thanks!

You can see those that have been reprinted here - Ignatius Press. They say they are for 9-15 yo. I think that's fairly close. It would probably depend on the maturity and reading ability of a 9yo for reading these - just for comprehension reasons. I read Vision books aloud...whilst my children do lunch dishes...and both my 9 and almost 13 yo enjoy them immensely.
There are a few b/w pictures, but it's not a picture book at all, nor is there a picture on every page.

We love these books! My 8 year old enjoys them as read alouds (starting when he was about 7). My 14 year old enjoys them as read alouds or to read on his own. May I ask for suggestions on good saint books to follow the Vision books as DS 14 will soon be ready for saint books that are a bit more detailed and "mature" (although I still learn a lot from these Vision books myself).Hope this is o.k. to ask ... or should it be a new thread? Thanks.

At one stage someone here on the board had a list with the Vision books in history order (not all these books though) I've lost it (again) Anyone?

Yes, there was a link to a list which I think contains only the reprinted titles in chronological order (not the oop print ones though). And since it's only a link, I wanted to post the complete list here. Unless you are thinking of the huge Reading Your Way Through History list which encompasses lots of literature besides the Vision Books.

I do too (that is, learn alot myself reading them  ) The de Wohl books might be considered the next step up for a teen reader of saints stories.
