Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Can someone recommend a version of Stabat Mater available to download?

My favorite version of the Stabat Mater is the one arranged by Joseph Haydn and performed by the English Concert and Trevor Pinnock. It is available for download on iTunes. The version arranged by Rossini is also good.

I borrowed a version on CD from my library. I simply searched Stabat Mater and several versions were available. Maybe your library has a copy you can borrow?

Mary, there are a few resources online if you google Stabat Mater audio. This site has all the words in English and Latin, a history, and a beautiful audio rendition. Here's another site with lots of fantastic music. Scroll down to download Stabat Mater. Finally, if you need help with the Latin pronounciation, this site has all the words in both text and MP3 audio, but for some reason I couldn't find the basic tune there!

Thanks, that's the info I needed. I ended up getting the Hyden version and using it as part of Our Lady of Sorrows activity on Tuesday.
