Bumping this thread for all those interested in renewing/making their consecration on August 15th. The preparation begins next week on July 13th. I found this a great way to refresh and renew before another school year officially begins.

Anne's first post in this thread lays out the format of the consecration. Feel free to ask questions or make comments.

Question - just finished a consecration in our parish with a group of ladies on Feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. However, in reading, none of us know what chain St DeMontfort is referring to? Could someone fill us in. Thanks.

Don't know where he got it, but my nephew the seminarian wears one. It just looks like a bracelet of light chain link. I wouldn't be surprised if he just got it from a hardware store.

Hi Janet

I thought there had been a brief discussion of the chain at Hidden Treasure. My searching didn't bring it up. Maybe someone else remembers. Personally, and probably because I've done my consecration with the Franciscans of the Immaculate in more of St. Maximilian style, I wear a Miraculous Medal as a sign and reminder of my consecration to Mary.

Personally, I also think the Scapular would be make a good "chain." I have always found it difficult to wear the woolen Scapular and firmly believe it is a grace to be able to wear it faithfully.

I hope others will have more info for you!
