Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

When I was searching for the Marian Image that Rebecca was requesting, I came across some other Polish madonna images that I thought would be nice, since Elizabeth was featuring the Polish art for a bit.

These are really beautiful and I think they'll make for our first eleven ornaments. I had no luck at the Catholic Shop today, looking for Marian holy cards for decoupaging and I came home totally overwhlemed by the thought of hours at the computer doing image searches. This is an answer to prayer Jenn!

That would explain the nagging feeling for me to post it. I'm glad I could be an instrument. I was hesitating to post it, because I thought it might mean I was ADDING to someone's workload, but something kept telling me to just post in just in case.

And all the religious solicitation mailings. There are often great Marian images on the cards and such. I save all those things in a misc. craft box.

There are some great printables at Friends of Jesus and Mary.

For example the Mary Feast Day Pages and Part 2

These are great for lapbooks or notebooks.

The Mary Paper Dolls
Page 2

We are making mini books from:
The life of Mary

Mary's life 2

Mary's life 3

I hope you enjoy these pages as much as we have!

The discussion earlier mentioned catalogs - don't forget about old Christmas cards. We have found quite a few unusual images of the Blessed Mother in those. Additionally, if you subscribe to the Magnifikid there are many ways to cut and incorporate old issues into projects as well.

Also, here is another set of coloring page images:
Immaculate Heart of Mary
Our Lady of Guadalupe
Mother Mary with baby Jesus
The Assumption

Elizabeth,

I had some ideas today for your holycard dilemma.

1) You could still print out images from the Internet. Two different scenarios: print with your non-permanent ink and then photocopy on a color copier, or place the images on a disk and go to Kinkos or someplace to have the image printed out as laser or color copier image.

This would allow you to use the unique images instead of the standard holycards.

2) Ebay has some wonderful auctions of holycards. Some very rare images I've seen...you might have to pay a little more, but you can find some really old, unique cards.

And doing the method I propose above, copying them with a color copier can preserve them and reuse the images for other notebooks and projects in the future.

3) Holycards.com and Holycard collection have some wonderful images. I have ordered a cd of images from the former in earlier times.

HTH!

Yeaaah!! The site is up today! I'm off to the trunk of the car to grab the printer and use some ink!

Kristen, Thanks for the offer of copies of the items, I keep telling Marianna (myself too) that we have the whole month of May, patience is a virtue too...Also dh had the car and therefore the printer (trunk = closet) so I couldn't have printed right then, now, immediately - in any case.

Here is a website that has a lot of graphics of Mary and a list of her feasts throughtout the world.

Catholic Traditions Mary

Here is the main entrance to this site.

Catholic Traditions

We have used some of the images from this sight for my daughter's First Communion Notebook also.

We got derailed last year because I was so sick shortly after this notebook idea was conceived (among other things conceived ). So, I'm bumping this thread back up to see how others have done. Ready to give it a try again?

What a wonderful thread! We are only going to start our notebooks in May or June - as we are working on our First Holy Communion notebooks - but such great resources to get started. I had not known this thread was here - and I had started planning a notebook - starting with a visit to the National Shrine in DC. I am so excited about this!

Hello everybody,
Is anyone doing this right now? My ds(7) was excited about this!!! He's interested in the different titles of Mary and is thrilled to be making a fancy notebook!

We went to Target last weekend and bought stickers, fancy paper and stick-on gemstones. I decided we'll try to do one or 2 a month on saturdays, no pressure.

We're starting with the litany titles and also planning to put them on in latin. I am also hoping to find scripture references to go with them... like this:
"I was exalted like a palm tree in Engedi, like the rose bushes of Jericho"
-Sirach (Ecclesiasticus) 24:14
And Song, 2:1 "I am the Rose of Sharon"

I would love to get other ideas from anyone else who is working on this!

Thanks,
CK
