Is anyone familiar with this book about the Mass from this company? I am looking for something to help my 5 and 8 yo's understand the Mass a little better. I would like to know your opinions if you've used this book. Thanks!

Becky, I'm not familiar with the book "We Learn About Mass" by Gerard Moore. I always use caution with LTP, as there are some good resources, but a lot more watered down resources. There is a Google Preview on that page, so I looked it over.
I did not like the introduction, with phrases like:
"At Mass we are nourished by God's word and Eucharist."
"In Holy Communion we eat and drink of the Body and Blood of Christ."
Emphasis mine, and the first sentence is just as written. There seems to be more focus on "community" and all our participating levels, and from the quotes above a downplay or almost denial of Jesus Christ being truly present and us receiving Him, Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity. Not just "of his Body" or "Eucharist".
But that's what I'm reading in introduction. All the preview allows me to see is to the Gloria, and going through the parts of the Mass seemed easy to read and nothing jumped out at me.
My main concern would be how they treat Holy Communion and the True Presence further on in the book.

Thanks Jennifer! I am a bit wary of LTP as well, which is why I asked. I hate to spend money on something I wont use. I appreciate that you took time to google the book. I wish I could see the whole thing! I know from experience that the vocabulary used is so important! My dd went through Religious Ed at a Catholic School that did not use what I would consider a good resource - too much about the bread and wine being a "sign" of the presence of God. I'm still reminding her of the Real Presence - body, blood soul and divinity. I want to avoid that confusion with my other children.
Do you know of any other resources that I could use to help them understand the Mass better? I noticed that CHC has several, I'm just not sure which would be the best choice.

Yes Erin. I have found some very nice things there, but I've also been a bit disappointed with some items that seemed "watered down".

I'm not familiar with the book you linked, but I wanted to suggest either this bookfrom Catholic Heritage Curriculum or a subscription of Magnifikid. We subscribed to this for two years and it really helped keep my daughter well focused not only on the readings, but also raised her level of awareness of each part of the liturgy.

just wanted to second DianaC's recommendation of "The Mass Book for Children." this was the first of many Rosemarie Gortler books we've been very pleased with.

I just bought The Mass Book for Children by Rosemarie Gortler and it's really fabulous. That might be what you're looking for, Becky. It's printed by Our Sunday Visitor, not an exclusive CHC book.
I was thinking of other titles that might help with the Mass, but most are related to the 1962 Latin Mass. I think that many of these can be used to illustrate what is the Sacrifice of the Mass, the two sections, Liturgy of the Word and Liturgy of the Eucharist. There are more specific details in the Ordinary and Extraordinary Forms that differ, but the essence is the same.
Perhaps using The How-To Book of the Mass: Everything You Need to Know but No One Ever Taught You
by Michael Dubruiel would be good to sort out the differences accurately.
Know Your Mass by Father Demetrius Manousos, 1954, Catechetical Guild Educational Society. Written in comic book form, my father remembers this one so vividly when I showed an old copy I had found. He was just so excited.
Out of Print, but by the same author My Mass Book: A Young Catholic Missal also by Rev. Demetrius Manouso, 1954, Catechetical Guild Educational Society. For even younger children. Everything by the Catechetical Guild Educational Society was so good -- my mother had some of these titles and the pictures were so vivid and text so good for kids...memorable.
Mass Explained to Children by Maria Montessori is a classic work.
You can download A Child's Missal which is one of our favorite books. I don't know where to get it now, but I think this works fine in Ordinary or Extraordinary Form of the Rite. It does help to have the child read/learn the Latin names of the parts of the Mass -- they are still the same in both forms.
One of my sisters mentioned how she recently read and used one of the Didache textbooks with her children (the section on Creation) and they were all riveted (ages 3 to 12). So I started thinking that could be a basis for what to cover on the Mass in the Introduction to Catholicism.
I also LOVE Bishop Louis La Ravoire Morrow's old My Catholic Faith. It's my favorite old catechism. I prefer his 1961-1965 edition, but the 1954 edition has been reprinted. The illustrations are just tremendous and the way it's laid out and written is just tremendous.

A Is for Altar, B Is for Bible
by Judith Lang Main is excellent. I bought my copy from Elizabeth many years ago before I really was into the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. I think it is excellent. My sons both love it, as do my nieces and nephews. I think you get a greater understanding of some of the choices when you do the CGS, but it still is a good stand alone. The pictures are lovely, and it's all sound.
