Josias, Hold the Book

This was one of the garden themed books we got from the library this spring and it's a gem! I love that it is about a garden that is necessary for the family's survival and not just a hobby, that a young boy has real responsibility for the garden and that he takes his responsibility seriously. The story is also a beautiful example of Real Learning as Josias tries various approaches to solving his garden problem, finds his own resources inadequate and eventually seeks outside help to learn what he needs to do.
