Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

This book is so cool- all the pages are black, and the text is written in regular type and Braille. The pictures are all raised images done in black and describe colors.

We closed our eyes and tried to describe what we were feeling on the pages. This would be fun to do in a dark place, also, such as a closet, or blindfolded.

It has so many teaching possibilities... Braille, blindness, colors, senses, touch, imagination...

Wow - sounds like a very intriguing book. I'm going to try to see if I can get it.

Coincidentally, this month is the 200th anniversary of Louis Braille's birth (Jan. 4, 1809)

We checked this out from the library last year as we discussed Braille, and the kids just loved it.
