Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We are doing a "pro-life day" in our Church's RE this week. We are reading Angel in the Waters at every class. I am looking for 2 different types of crafts/activities. I need one to support prolife ideas, and one for the Guardian Angel prayer. The kids are all 1st graders, each groups has 15 children.

So ideas? I am just not feeling creative this week.

Footprint angels (with hands as the wings) are cute and then you glue the prayer onto the angel body ...

have kids stand with feet together and draw around (the toes become the skirt of the angel and the heel bumps are where you put the head (just a circle) ... the hands are traced around for the wings (either with fingers spread for a "feathery" look or with fingers together).

This is a fun project and the kids can help each other with the tracing -- have the heads cut out before.

If you have time, the angels can really be embellished with yarn/tinsel for the hair, chenille stem halos, glitter glue on the "dress" etc

Thank you for the ideas.

Unfortunately we had so little time after the reader came in for the story, that all we did was a quick discussion of Guardian Angels, and the Angel of God prayer.
