Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I forgot to mention that the newest part of our tradition is a St. Nicholas puppet I asked for last year for Christmas. It's fabulous! I used it last year to "evangelize" the message, telling the story of St. Nicholas, having a book with the children's names, and having the puppet throw candy to the children. Puppets are a great way to get a point across. Even if the little child sees the puppeteer, the child tunes the person out and zones in on the puppet.

I brought the puppet out two days ago for our 2 yo ds. He's just enraptured by it... So if you can't have a real St. Nick come to the house, this is an inexpensive substitute. On the site is also instructions to make a felt puppet.

And St. Nicholas The Wonder Worker, but it might be better for older kids.

Why might it be better for older kids, MacBeth? I couldn't see inside it at the Amazon site and since we're not in America and don't have a decent library (I'm sure, Kathryn, that UK libraries are great, but US AFB libraries are *not* my cup of tea).

God bless,

I remember seeing someone recommend a book about St. Nicholas where it specifically mentioned he was in Heaven and not the North Pole. Now I can't figure out where that post was. Does anyone know the book I mean?
