Along the lines of the WW2 Jello thread, what is your favorite Jello salad recipe. I need to make one for a party on Saturday and I'd like to make the best possible.
What would you make?

Our all time favorite is "Orange Fluff"
4 1/2 cups water
2 pkgs. (4 oz) orange jello
2 pkgs. (4 oz)tapioca-not in the red box,use Jello brand
3 small cans mandarin oranges
12 0z whipped topping
Combine water, jello, and tapioca. Bring to a boil for 1 minute. Let cool until thickened, but not set. Add whipped topping, then drained oranges. Refrigerate until set.
I always add this disclaimer:
Recipe giver assumes no responsibility for weight gain associated with eating left over orange fluff for breakfast, lunch and supper after any holiday.

Orange fluff sounds just like this recipe a friend of mine makes, and she crumbles fudge ripple cookies all over the top of it...yum!

Liz -- it sounds great -- does it go in a 13x9 pan?

This is not a salad, but Tasha Tudor has a wonderful coffee jelly Add fresh whipped cream and it is a summer delight.
2Tbls plain gelatin
1/2 cup cold water
1 cup boiling water
1/3 cup sugar
2 cups boiled coffee
1/2 pint heavy cream
Soak gelatin for 20 min in the cold water, then add the boiling water and allow it to stand for several minutes to dissolve. Add the sugar and coffee. Turn into a jelly mold and chill throughly for several hours.
Unmold and serve with whipped cream.

I don't know if it would be a jello salad or a fruit salad..
But for a nice fresh light salad.. I've done jello jigglers type of jello.. poured in a jelly roll pan so it's fairly thin.. then cut into a small dice.. and tossed with whatever combo of fruit sounds good.. even canned fruit will work.
It comes out really pretty
