Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Has anyone had any success in training their constant (never had a dry night in their life) bed wetter to get up and use the bathroom? I am so tired of changing smelly wet sheets. My child wears Mother of Eden overnight undies, but soaks through them (Goodnites were even worse). Any hope would be appreciated.

I am sorry for whining, but being pregnant makes the smell that much worse.

I have had two with this problem and I had it also as a child. We used an alarm. We used an alarm that goes on the bed, not one that goes in their pants. I will do a search and see if I can come up with the program I used. We spent about 500.00 for it with the first and were able to keep the system and use it again.

System we used with our children. It is called the Bell and Pad Alarm. I personally did not want to put a sensor or anything into their pants. I think you can find other systems out there for less.
How old is your son, if you don't mind sharing. Most advice out there is to wait until the child is at least 6. I think dd was 8 and ds 7 when we used the system. DD stopped very quickly, ds took about 4 or 5 weeks.
This system provides you with feedback. I think the child needs to fill out a form every morning and then email it to the office once a week. They write letters offering encouragement and maybe some tips. I don't think you need to use that service. We did with dd but for ds we did it on our own.

Oh, thanks for all the info, Mary Chris. I have a feeling we'll need to visit this further in, so I'm glad you posted the age to be more aggressive.

Right now I have a sneaking feeling my 4yo doesn't get up to go the bathroom because he's afraid of the dark. So we're lighting his pathway....

Thank you, Mary Chris. My son is 7 1/2 and has truly never had a dry night in his life.

He still has daytime accidents occasionally, too. I think the latter is due to the fact that he does not want to take the time to stop what he is doing to go to the bathroom. When I used a reward system for staying dry during the day, he did not have a single accident.
