Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Oh, there's also Turtle Bay Aquarium in Redding, CA (near Chari)

I believe that this is a freshwater fish aquarium...at least it was when we went there...

Just FYI, I know that museums have recipricating programs...some of these fall into that...if you come out to CA and don't have one, you can purchase a $20.00 membership at the Discovery Museum...that one membership saved us oodles of $$$$!

End of the Oregon Trail

This was a great museum...we really enjoyed it when we went to Oregon...

Ok, that's really all I can think of.

Good night...

Inspired by this list and the Charlotte Mason field trip destinations list that was posted, I've been ruminating over some of the best sites we've visited. To add to the list, I'd have to add:

Wyoming Dinosaur Center, Thermopolis Wyoming- great museum and you can take your kids into the mountains with paleontologists and excavate. We've done this three times, so far. Great fun. Afterwards, you can go play in the thermal hot springs in Thermopolis, ALSO great fun.

Pioneer Village, Minden, Nebraska - low key step into the past and a 5 cent carousel!

USS Alabama/Battleship Park - Mobile, Alabama. Spend the day aimlessly wandering thru the ship, top to bottom. If you play your cards right, you can even arrange to spend the night on the ship. Also a great sub to explore and a flight museum. Another place we've visited repeatedly.

Fruita/Grand Junction, Colorado Dinosaur Museum. What a great place! We went twice in three days.

Las Vegas- the jousting tournement show at the Castle-themed hotel there-sorry, can't remember the exact name, but we loved the show, even though we were all suffering from strep-throat!

Chimney Rock, Nebraska - where we rode in a covered wagon up to the base of chimney rock. The driver was the great-grandson of Buffalo Bill Cody! Really gave a sense of the Oregon Trail.

Kearney, Nebraska - the Great River Road arch (or some such name) that loops over the highway, with costumed interpreters, movies and holographic exhibits, interactive. Very cool.

I'll continue to poll the kids on "top picks".

This has been a fun thread to follow (and print out for future use!) I'll continue to poll the children for Top Picks...
