Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Does anyone have a link to a St. Nicholas unit they are willing to share? Katharine had a wonderful one last year. I had it printed off for this year and now it is in a tub in my garage waiting for our lower level remodeling to be completed.

Thanks so much!

Just keep an eye on Serendipity over the next few weeks and you'll find St. Nicholas plans there. Today we'll be putting up the first in a series of posts on the Jesse Tree and St. Nicholas is coming very soon. I found the little flip book I made for the unit last year and am going to scan in those pages today too.

Oh my goodness! I didn't know that Serendipity was going to be doing the Jesse Tree! Ya'll are just giving me too much to keep up with, lol! But it's all SO GOOD!

We did start the tradition last year of doing a Jesse Tree, but I had just made paper copies of the pictures and punched a hole and tied with ribbon. These felt ones are SO much more wonderful and yours are so simple that I think I can do it!! Bravo! (I'm not a sewer, so I was afraid to click on the link and see a bunch of stitching that I was clueless about.) :)

I do have a question -- for those of you using the felt pieces like Katherine posted on Serendipity, will you punch holes in those and hang on the tree? Or are yours for a different purpose?

I bought a small tree just for our Jesse Tree last year, so I want to somehow make them into ornaments.

THANKS!!
Candace

Candace,

I have paper ornaments as well. I'm not sure I'll get to making the felt ones this year or not. If I were to hang the felt ones up on a tree, I'd try hot gluing the gold nylon cording that you see many of the store bought ornaments use. I just bought some at my local craft store in the Christmas ribbon section.

HTH,

It looks like Serendipity is using the kit from Scripture Trees (which doesn't have a website). This is a felt tree banner, so holes aren't used, the felt ornaments are just put on the felt tree.

For information on that kit, write to ScriptureTrees@usfamily.net

You could easily sew a ribbon to the felt ornaments and hang it on a tree.
I have been considering an advent purple 'fake' tree for ours...
