What are some favorite picture book versions of fables? I've got an old, old anthology, but it's way over my 2.5 dd's head. She loves stories, and the other day I overheard her acting out one of Aesop's fables with a toy dog in front of the mirror: "That bone looks yummy like mine. I want THAT bone!"

We really like this version - Aesop's Fables

I saw on Amazon that Usbrone has a version geared toward preschoolers. I really like Usborne so imagine it is pretty good as well. Aesop's Fables

We have been using Aesop's Fables illustrated by Pinkney, and it's much better than the Milo Winter version for some reason. When I read from the Milo version, my dds just STARE at me . When I read from the Pinkney version, they "get it."
