Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Ours came today and they are great - really good quality too! I feel like I got such a deal!

Oh good....I was going to ask you if you got them and to give us a report! I'm going to tell my neighbor, who often goes with us into the muddy woods and needs a pair.

Yes, I was/am pleasantly surprised. Here's more info from the manufacturer's website.

They have them advertised as youth boots - I got the youth 6 which is also a woman's 8. They are roomy and comfortable. They will also be very warm with wool socks this winter.

Michele,
Do you think they could double as snow boots for the kids with good socks?

No I didn't -- they all have boots already, that they have bought themselves.

Kevin (15) will be taking microscope and dissection classes on Thursdays at the county park environmental center so it's the perfect opportunity for the rest of us to go on nature hikes (though he will get to have nature hikes as well). It's an area where we have frequently camped so we know it well (the park is HUGE and one can get lost there - ask me how I know) and the river (Conestoga - pretty small) is right there so there are many opportunities for wet and muddy feet.

When I was little in the UK, we wore real wellies that went up to just below the knee (I have a happy red pair from Scotland that I wear these days). It seems like a lot of the ones here in the US only top out at mid-calf, which with my girls and their pond adventures, results in what we referred to growing up as "gettin' a soaker".

Does anyone know a US supplier that still offers a higher wellie boot for children?

Thanks in advance!

Tracy

Tracy, these are the ones everyone here in coastal Alaska wears. They go all the way up to the knee.

We found boots like these at Wal-mart -- got them for the kids when we go to my BIL's farm in NC -- easy on, easy off and really easy "hose-off"!

My kids LIVE in their boots as much as they're able! I just ordered these for myself! I've been needing them forever...can't wait till it rains!

When I came over to the USA, I was astonished that a) most people didn't know what Wellies were, and b) That they were very hard to get. Finally Wal-mart picked them up, and between them and my Mum, both kids have wellies... which they love to wear in the rain
Of course, nothing compares to tramping over Dartmoor in them as I did in university!
