Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi All!

I am narrowing down language arts options for my two ds's 12 and 10, and am leaning towards either Bravewriter's Arrow or Living Language Arts Through Literture. Do any of you have any experience with either of these that you would be willing to share? Which would you choose and why? Both of my boys are average writer and they neither really love writing nor hate it.

Thanks so much in advance and God bless!

Jenny

Hi Jenny,

I used LLATL for several years and then I switched to Brave Writer and have used the Arrow or Slingshot for 3 years. It's definitely more expensive but I really like the fact that the classics are used and there is one literary element per month to focus on.

LLATL is very anti-Catholic. Many of the protestant theology selections were chosen to reflect anti-Catholic sentiments. You could analyze the quotes and practice your apologetics but why pay a protestant author to slam your faith when you could use the Apologetics resources published by great Catholics?

I agree wholeheartedly with Gwen. In my mind, there is no competition at all. Go with Bravewriter.
