Somehow I stumbled upon two more sites with materials at competitive prices:
Ifit
Montessorisky
As if we need more to mull over...

Melinda - thanks for the links - you can never have too many vendors to compare prices! I just went by to check them out. Ifit had a lot of the geography materials I was looking for, but they were out of stock of almost everything! Oh well - it was still helpful to check their prices.
Thanks for finding them for me to check out!

I've been exploring Ifit. The wholesale prices are amazing--if you want to buy 30. Or there is an option to buy samples at the wholesale price.
ETA: NOT wholesale prices. Sorry
Has anyone done this?
I am considering it, but I am wondering: Would it be wrong to request samples? They do offer that option--order samples to see their quality--and they don't seem to restrict it. At all. I WOULD like to see their quality. . . .
Opinions?

Celeste,
I may be wrong on this, but I would love someone to order some samples from them and report back to our group. I had to make my Adena Montessori order blind- I couldn't find anyone who had used their products. Luckily everything seems to be fine. But I don't think it would be wrong for you to ask for samples, not when you are going to share your findings with us. It could lead to a lot of orders for their company. That's just my two cents.
I just realized that in titling this post "more supplier sites" I sound like an addict Ack!

Actually I just found out that the sample prices are NOT the wholesale prices. Rats.

I have bought some materials from IFIT because of their free shipping over $500 promotion. (Actually, I believe this promotion is always on even though they post a deadline - they just change the deadline every month of so). I haven't bought materials from other sites e.g. Alison, Adena, Montessori Concept... because shipping to Canada costs a fortune. So I cannot tell you how the quality compares with others, but I'm pretty happy with the stuff I got. I mainly purchased sensorial materials which I find the hardest to make out of all the various subjects. I also returned some materials and there was no hassle in the refunding/exchanging process. For the out-of-stock stuff, they re-stock every month so they sent the stuff they have first, and then by the middle of the next month they send the out-of-stock stuff. But I guess that depends on how many items are in the order.
For those who may be interested, here are some items I returned:
Smell bottles - the bottle covers fell off too easily
Baric tablets - I found a few inconsistent matching weights
Rough and Smooth Boards - I think the sandpaper was a bit too rough for little hands
Sound Boxes - I had one pair of mismatch and they exchanged it gladly
Dressing frame - buckling frame was too hard to unbuckle even for me so I exchanged it with hook and eye, again without hassle
Color Box 3 - I found that the color gradation wasn't done too well; and later I realize I could just use free paint samples
Color Box 1 and 2 - the red tablets were too "burgundy" so they sent me "primary" red tablets in the mail for free
When I asked initially, they said they don't provide free samples, but when I asked them recently to send me color bead samples, they did send it for free (probably because I was a good customer the first time around )
If anyone wants anymore information about them, please ask.
Lorraine

Thanks for the great information, Lorraine! I'm glad to hear this is another reputable source.

Yes, thank you! So very helpful! Did you order their "samples"? (Melinda, you convinced me!)
