This thread has me thinking and praying in a big way for my bil (dh's brother/godfather), sil (godmother to my youngest), and their children.
I just found out they had to take their youngest to the hospital this morning and she is on a heart monitor right now. They aren't sure what's wrong. And she's only 23 years old.
Of course, I'm trying to be helpful...and hopeful. She's planning her wedding for next year and going to school so I mentioned that it might just be anxiety related. I hope so because that will pass and the other possibilities could be so much worse. 
She also has something growing on her kidney.
And their oldest has numerous life threatening conditions that I won't get into detail with, but she has a 13 year old and a new 7 month old baby who needs their mother so she needs to try getting control over some uncontrollable situations. Yet...no health insurance. 
Then their son's health problems all started as an infant. He had asthma and extreme allergies. Juvenile diabetes at the age of eight. And the health problems have continued.
On top of this, his wife is going in next week for exploratory surgery.
All their children have had their thyroids go out on them and, as some of you well know, the thyroid practically controls one's body.
My bil just called dh and told him, "I don't know what Jan and I did wrong. All our kids have something wrong with them."
They really believe that their gene combination went haywire. 
I've often thought to ask for prayers but this morning's phone call and Sara's thread and the discussion it spun has this uppermost on my mind. I'm sorry for the lengthy details but I'm giving them so you can all direct your prayers accordingly, and so I can get some worry and concern off my own chest. This is the brother we are closest to and they live next door so their health and happiness really does have a direct impact on our end.

Thank you for tying the other thread and this prayer request together for us, Cay. Your details paint a vivid picture, something you are so good at, without judging or embarassing people involved, and you give us much to ponder prayerfully. Cay there is alot of suffering in all that you have written, I am particularly saddened by the children's thyroid conditions...actually it is all sad, I will pray to Our Heavenly Mother for them all!
