Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

With many thanks to MaryM, we got together yesterday and made sugared Easter eggs -- something I don't think I would have ever attempted (remember, she's the one that got me to try Pysanky, too!) without her prodding....

Here's a post with pictures in case you want to see the process and the end results... and mine didn't break like my pysanky!

I tried leaving a comment, but Google wouldn't take my password.

They are gorgeous! My dh loves these. And you can say they aren't edible, but he licked them when he was a kid. Brava!

How fun, Mary! The pictures are just lovely! (I got a kick out of Peter. No rabbit would ignore the jelly beans over here!    )

The picture book I mentioned, Mary, which has sugar eggs as a central part is Secret Signs: Along the Underground Railroad. There used to be a link to a short unit study on the publishers page, but it appears to be gone now.
