I have just found out tonight a friend has been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia ~ this is devastating news, she has a young baby, one of four boys. She will soon start chemotherapy which I understand has a 70% success rate, please pray that this will be successful and she will be into complete remission!
I know this poor girl (Clare is her name) would be completely distressed by this shocking news, just so sad...

Oh, it IS so shocking and troubling at first to hear this kind of news, Anne! You're right! I'll offer prayers that she will feel Our Lord's Hand in this moment, and of course I will pray that this treatment is successful for Clare.

UPDATING AGAIN: Clare has not had a good run. She has had complications, they have not been able to remove the catheter and I believe this is because they found a mass at the base of her spine and it most likely affected the nerves, this has gone on now for quite a while.
I was unwell myself and did not update in December to say she had ended up in ICU for half a week. The chemo at this point is finished but they are now doing an allogeneic transplant. This carries many serious risks both short term and long term.
Clare is quite weak now and is fearful of facing the prospect of this new treatment, she is struggling to build her physical and mental strength for all of this.
She has these four small boys that need her so much, please pray she will pull through all of this and recover!
