Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I found out about a week and a half ago that my blogrolling account was deleted. I don't know why. I have tried to contact the people at blogrolling and have yet to receive a reply after 10 days.

This is fortuitous in a way as I have been quite overloaded lately - not enough hours in the day. I know that most of you here know exactly what I mean. We've been out of town for three of the last four weekends, I am trying to implement some dietary/nutritional interventions to help my children deal with some problems (mostly my oldest with his autism) as well as beginning a new therapy called RDI to help my son. And I'm still trying to be a mom and teacher and have a husband whose job is giving him a WHOLE LOT of stress this year. You all know what that means - the stress gets taken home and I get to deal with it too.

Sorry, I don't mean to vent, just wanted to offer some small explanation for why I haven't been around. And for why I am not going to continue to maintain the blogroll. The computer has become a HUGE distraction for me and I've been allowing myself to escape my life into the internet for far too many hours. In a way, I am using the internet to help me deal with my stress when I should be turning to God. Elizabeth's post on how the internet has changed her life has been lurking in the back of my mind ever since I first read it.

While I have enjoyed maintaining the list and getting a chance to view all of your fantastic blogs, I am finding it to be too much of a "cause for distraction". Thank you for sharing all your blogs.

The blogroll is still up at the forum here. Feel free to continue to use the graphic to link to the blogroll here. If anyone is interested in taking on the blogroll, please PM me and I will gladly email you the post with all of the code for the links intact.

Oh! God Bless you! It's wonderful that you can recognize when something is taking away precious time from your family. I'm sure everyone will understand :) We are called to the duties of our family first, so good for you! :)
Take care and God Bless!

I hear you on this and I really struggle.
I heard a few years back that being in front of a screen is being in front of a screen. period.
I also will acknowledge that it is HARDER to feel connected to Catholic homeschoolers sometimes IRL because the internet life is so much easier, kwim??
lastly, I keep coming back to a comment that a friend made " 99% of the time, our first little niggling of doubt is right, and when we deny that doubt and keep going in the direction we were, we regret it later"
example: watching a TV show where we start to think, this is crossing the line, getting too rude, whatever- I should get up and walk away.
why when we hear of people (or struggle ourselves) having those little doubts with regards to blogging, computer time, etc, do we in general try to convince ourselves to ignore that doubt and that it (computer time) is good for us??

would the mom without the computer who does straight up Seton with her kids be perhaps creating better memories for the future?

anyway, enough rambling, dh's out of town and I've got sick kids tucked away for the night (please God??)

I will be praying for you Susan and I so thank you for your inspiring post and reminder, whether you intended to or not, you really struck a chord with me...

Bless your heart, you've been so generous with your time! Feel no guilt at all for putting answering to your priorities. I'll pray for you!

Oh, Susan, I'm just so grateful for all you did in putting this list together to begin with! Of course, you must tend to your family!

Sending many prayers your way as you generously fulfill your vocation!
