The White Ram
by Mordicai Gerstein
We thought this was just beautiful. We discussed Divine Providence, Abraham and Isaac, the foreshadowing of Christ, how a ram differs from a lamb, how the ram went joyfully and how Christ went willing, how the enemy can disguise himself as something good and beautiful..... We talked briefly about the Midrashim traditions and some of our own and my boys thought it was cool that it's possible that Mary and Joseph told this story to Jesus when He was a boy.
They have read it over and over (our copy is from the library.)

Oooh, thanks Joann. This looks excellent for Old Testament study.

Joann,
Thank you -- and I'm always so happy when I find that someone's picture book recommendation is available at my library! Yippee!

That looks like a keeper, Joann. I have to see whether my library has it!

I was wondering if this was a possible Mosaic title.
Glad to see my library has it.

Thank you, Joann! We just picked this up from the library on Wednesday. Everyone in the family has read it. (Even my MIL) And we all loved it. So much to think about!

Thank you so much for this recommendation. One of my girls' favorite books is Gerstein's Queen Esther, the Morning Star. Can't wait to check this one out!
