Tasha Tudor died today.
We are very sad. My son is talking a lot about her work.
Pumpkin Moonshine and Around the Year are the ones he loves and we'll pull out tonight. And I was just going to use Robert Louis Stevenson's Child's Garden of Verses illustrated by her for the next year.
We've been collecting and reading her books for many years. What are your favorites, and how are you going to mark her passing?

Oh how very sad. I still have all of my Tasha Tudor books from my childhood. Her books also gave me a strong impression of New England flora/fauna, and tradition, growing up in the more wild and wooly west- Oregon.

It's a sad day here. We're reading "And It Was So" this afternoon in remembrance.

How very sad. We love her books, especially A is for Annabelle. I always wanted to be Tasha Tudor when I grew up, she was just beautiful all around!

My favorite is A Doll's Christmas - I love to read that to my girls. I guess I always wanted a dollhouse so big it had a turtle living in it! There is something so gentle and relaxing about all her books. They just always put me in a better place.

My favorite from when I was little is Corgiville Fair. I always thought I'd grow up and get a Corgi (ha, I'm a allergic).

I have to vote for A is for Annabelle as well. The copy I had as a little girl was my mothers and it has been well loved by my daughters. I was thrilled when I found that it had been republished because I admit, I was too protective of my old one!

That is so sad! When I was little, she did a book signing in my town and each of us kids got a book...I got A Time To Keep. We pull it out every few months nd look at the pictures for that month. I wonder whoat my brother and sister did with their books??

Oh, no! I just saw this. We'll have to read A Time to Keep, and maybe One is One (Maggie's favorite). I wonder if my grandmother knows -- she loves Tasha Tudor as much as I do.

One of my favorites is A Time to Keep. My Great-Grandma Omi gave it to me when I was a girl, I still have that first copy packed away but I bought a second to bring on the boat, I could not leave it behind! I also really enjoy Tasha Tudor's Garden.
I'm contemplating a memorial tea this afternoon. Perhaps with Scottish shortbread, berries and cream, daisies on the table... I wish I could find blue lupines or delphiniums to mix in. I think we'll bring out our nature journals and paint and reread a few of her books.
