Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

HI Theresa,

I second Leslie Sansone workout DVD's....I got them at the library too! I like them because they are so doable as I get back into the swing of working out. There aren't a lot of "fancy" moves, it is basically marching to the time of the music....I just feel good after doing them....unlike when I do aerobics intensely, I am so tired, I don't get that way with Leslie's DVD...

Do take care of yourself...put your oxygen mask on first!

OK, Ladies, you've convinced me! I'm heading over to Netflix right now to see what I can find!

I just read this passage from George MacDonald's The Princess and the Goblin:

The great-great-grandmother is speaking: but it IS so silly of people to fancy that old age means crookedness and witheredness and feebleness and sticks and spectacles and rheumatism and forgetfulness! It is so silly! Old age has nothing whatever to do with all that. The right old age means strength and beauty and mirth and courage and clear eyes and strong painless limbs.

Oh I love that Mary!!!

I used to be able to stay up late, late and work or take care of sick kids. I could function the next day with no problem. Last night, I was up all night with a croupy toddler and now I am staggering around. I need an IV line for my coffee. This is feeling old.

Oh, isn't it so true? I just commented to my husband the other day that lately it seems something just slightly aches every day when I get up. At least it's a rotating something ... always something new ... but it's always something ....

Sad, but true. It's probably better to accept it with grace and humor than ignore it or resist it.

BTW, I am recently trying to cut down on caffeine in tea and coffee - just having less and none at all some days.Trying to stick to herbal 90% of the time. Or Rooibus or the occasional green tea. And leave coffee or a pot of Earl Grey tea for a treat.

Weird thing is, after the initial system shock ( and I waas not even a big caffeine drinker!!) - well, I find I feel better and have more energy!

Just wanted to update to let you know I took your advice. I went to Netflix and ordered several different workout videos and watched and tried them. Some of them were way above my level of fitness (and coordination!LOL!), but the Leslie Sansone is perfect for me! I am very much enjoying doing this and it is simple enough that my little kids can do it right along with me and get some of their wiggles out, too!Woo Hoo! Talk about a bonus!
Anyway, thanks for the recommendation. I've been doing it for two days and I feel fitter already!
