Can anyone suggest some cute books about mice?

I already have "The Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry, and the Big Hungry Bear." And, the Mouse Cookie book.

Can anyone give me any more suggestions?

Thanks,

We like the Brambly Hedge series by Jill Barklem. The only objection that I have is that they celebrate winter with a Snow Ball, rather than Christmas (but they are mice).

If You Give a Mouse a Cookie by Laura Joffe Numeroff/Felicia Bond.

A darling chapter book for upper elementary is The Attic Mice by Ethel Pochoeki:

From School Library Journal
"This unusual fantasy presents a very tiny horse chestnut whose sentiments are reported to readers and a family of mice who live in the attic of a deserted dollhouse. The mice are delighted to find the chestnut because it fits their scale of things and is useful as a ball, a footstool, a paperweight, or a doorstop. Most of the book concerns the mouse family's lifestyle and their entertaining adventures. The chestnut re-enters the story at the end, when the family uses it as the Baby Jesus in their creche..." --Virginia Golodetz, St. Michael's College, Winooski, VT

We love the Anatole books by Eve Titus. There is also Anatole and the Piano, Anatole and the Thirty Thieves, and Anatole and the Cat plus more that we haven't read (htf)

Actually, now that I think of it, Eve Titus has other mouse books like Basil of Baker Street which I believe was the basis for the movie "The Great Mouse Detective"

Also we've enjoyed,Sylvester, The Mouse with the Musical Ear. I'm not sure that we'd buy this one, but definitely check out from the library.

The sequel to "The Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry, and the Big Hungry Bear" called !Merry Christmas, Big Hungry Bear is quite enjoyable (we LOVE the original)

Don't forget the Beverly Cleary books --
The Mouse and the Motorcycle and its sequels!

(edited because I pushed Post to soon )

Oh my gosh, WE love Mouse TV, too---I forgot!

I also forgot to add--- on today of all days--- the very clever and cute Woodrow the White House Mouse by Peter and Cheryl Barnes. It is in simple rhyme and Woodrow and his wife have 8 little mice, which I love!

I grew up with a series of books by Cindy Czekeres called Pippa Mouse; if you can find them, they are precious! In this post I scanned in the front cover and here is the Amazon link.

Also:

Three Pebbles and a Song

Mother's Day Mice (illustrated by Jan Brett).

Toby books and Melanie Mouse's Moving Day illus. by Cindy Czekeres

Mouse Soup books by Arnold Lobel

This is more of a read aloud, but we really enjoyed the George Selden books about Tucker Mouse.

Beatrix Potter: The Tailor of Gloucester.

I just love mice! I'll see if I can find anymore around here.

Don't pass up Macbeth's first Wild Monthly...on mice.

At the bottom she offers mice book suggestions and there are some fun recipes even.

She's got lots more to explore: More Wild Monthly

I can't stop either---hee hee!

Two more adored titles---totally irresistable:

Norman the Doorman by Don Freeman
Dr. De Soto by William Steig

LOVE these two. Okay, I'll stop.

Who knew there were so many authors obsessed with mice?

I didn't see mention of Jan Brett's Town Mouse Country Mouse

From an old Catholic parenting pamphlet, I found mention of a book called Perez the Mouse. I managed to find an OOP copy pretty easily. The story is a Spanish fairy-tale, and there are other versions, but it would be a good one to fit into mice study.

My sister has always enjoyed House-Mouse Designs, and I found that they have some mice books besides their other lovely stationery items.
