Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I have a question about masterly inactivity. The gentleman in the video describes it as a matter of classroom management. I was under the impression that it was more in regards to the student and how they interacted with the information. I envisioned it as my child is "playing" with the knowledge they have learned, like their Dolls are reenacting what they have learned during play time.

Any thoughts?

Thank you so much for posting these, even my husband was interested in listening...

Thanks

Here is a recent discussion on Masterly Inactivity.

The "inactivity" is on the part of the teacher. So, while it is about the child independently nurturing their relationship with the knowledge, the term itself applies to the teacher's intentional lack of interference. The "masterly" aspect means that the teacher supports that relationship, but typically this is through very subtle means, such as simply being a "presence" as the video relates or modeling the relationship and providing tools and resources that the child needs or requests to continue with their exploration.
