Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi Moms!

Have you seen the new reading program on Simply Charlotte Mason, entitled Delightful Reading?

I just bought it yesterday...and am sooooo excited.

Admittedly, the author was my next door neighbor two years ago, and I was at her home yesterday perusing her book whilst our children played quietly (ahem--loudly ) in the background.

It is a gorgeous book that uses classic poems and poetry, divided into several lessons per poem to teach word-building, sentence building, rhyming, etc.

You could use it as a program to actually teach your child...or, as in my case, my dd is just finishing 100 EZ Lessons...and upon perusing it, it will be the perfect continuation for her.

There are instructions on where/how to begin depending on the reading level of your child--so...it is flexible.

I will post how our first week goes with it next week to give everyone a better idea!

In the meantime...I'm super excited. Hope you can check out the program!

I'm looking forward to reading more about this as well. I saw this on the Simply Charlotte Mason site last week and was really intrigued. I actually just started using CM-style reading lessons for my two 4yos, one of whom is already a very fluent reader and one who is still in the early stages. I have been following her approach using rhymes and poems of my own choice and I'm liking it a lot so far. This program looks like pretty much the same thing, just with selections chosen and instructions laid out. I'm glad to see something like this on the market because when I was researching CM reading lessons, I was surprised not to see anything like this already. Looks great!
