Ladies, it is almost Thanksgiving, and that means it is time to Pick Your Pie.

Tell us what kind of pie makes your heart flutter as the holidays approach

Of course, multiple votes are allowed. And feel free to share a favorite recipe!

Bring on the plates and forks!

I love my Momma's pumpkin pie, and my French apple is yummy, yummy-----and a big favorite is lemon meringue....I always take a "little" piece of each.
My mom used to make a green tomato mincemeat pie that I absolutely loved---I need to look into that!

What, no "All of them" option? Seriously. I try to get at least a bite of any and all pies available :D

I'm choosing "not picky" then.

This year's pies will be a dried fruit pie, rum cream pie, and hoosier pie.

If I had to pick only one though, it would have to be a mile-high apple pie, with lattice crust, and ginger whipped cream on the side, or ginger ice cream.

I don't like pie. There wasn't a choice for that. But, I'm not a big dessert person. My children love pumpkin.

Pecan, pumpkin, blueberry and Key lime are the favorites here.
Me? I'll take any kind of pie, but will have to refrain this year unless I can find a good gluten-free pie crust recipe.
Anyone have one to share? Pretty please?

I have a friend who has a gluten free pie crust.. I think it's nut based flours.. but I won't be able to get hold of her easily right now.. and then I'm so busy I can't think.. but before Christmas I can probably get her recipe for you.

Wow, I've never had most of these, one day I'll be adventurous and bake some.

Theresa, Elana's Pantry is gluten free and she has pie and pastry recipes

I always make pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving. I grew up eating pumpkin and pecan pie every year, so it is a tradition in our family. Over here, there a very cute little mince pies that I will probably serve as my dh loves them.

I don't do cooked fruit. However, we do have a wonderful tradition for the days leading up to Thanksgiving, involving French Silk Pie from Baker's Square, The Sound of Music, and Planes, Trains and Automobiles.

Does anyone like theirs with ice cream? I like mine straight up, warm if it's a fruit pie.

But I like something like this even better

I voted for "not picky" because my family will eat any pie. I almost voted for "specialty" because we have one recipe that *must* be made every Thanksgiving: Double Layer Pumpkin Pie

And tomorrow we get to bake 2 each of pumpkin, pecan, and apple. Blackberry is really the family favorite, but not at Thanksgiving.

Peace,
Nancy

I have to admit I'm in the minority at Thanksgiving. I just don't like pumpkin pie (I love pumpkin bread , but pie consistency just doesn't taste right to me ). So I voted for chocolate pie and apple because I can bare it.

LOL! KC, I think we were separated at birth sometimes. I don't like pie. I don't gain much weight at Thanksgiving time.

If I had to eat pie, I like apple, but with a crumb top crust like Mom makes. And anything chocolate.
