Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

What music are you listening to that sings *SPRING* to you?

I just put A New Springtime into my personal CD player and Handel's Messiah is playing for the family. What are your faves?

Love,

I have to admit that we keep listening and singing to Vivaldi's Spring, just because that "Beethoven's Wig" version runs through our heads:

"It's spring, time to sing Vivaldi!
It's spring, time to sing Vivaldi!"

Not sure if this quite counts as the "Arts" , but we're doing folk music this spring--nice and soothing for our new baby's arrival, and I thought my two preschoolers would enjoy relearning some lullabies and old-fashioned tunes, as well as discovering some new favorites. I started playing Elizabeth Mitchell here as soon as Easter Monday rolled around, and it feels just right with the glorious weather we're having this week.

I love Piano Sonatas this time of year and today we've been listening to this CD: Mozart's Rare Choral Music all day!

I love listening to the soundtrack from Sense and Sensibility in the spring. Even the sad pieces are terribly consoling to me. I'm not sure what that says about me?!

And...we ALWAYS listen to the Anne of Green Gables soundtrack in the spring. Always.

Handel's Messiah is big around here because my oldest son takes very seriously not being able to sing or say the Alleluia during Lent. So, playing Handel's Messiah during Easter is BIG!!!

I am a total sap for show tunes. "Spring, Spring, Spring" from 7 Brides for 7 Brothers, "Oh What a Beautiful Morning" from Oklahoma, Mozart's "Alleluia",
Irving Berlin's "Easter Parade" Fred Astaire singing "Happy Easter". I love Sandi Patti's "Was It a Morning Like This?"

Anne of Green Gables and the Pride and Prejudice theme song are favorites too.

Oh yes and plenty of Celtic tunes. My oldest plays the bagpipes so he has introduced us to so many beautiful new Celtic folk songs.
