Anyone able to compare these two or give opinions on either. The T Tapp is the most immeadiately appealing to me. I just want to do something together with the kids for 15 mins each morning. But I have really being benefitting so much from using the Fly Lady system that I wonder if the NEWO might be a better choice. I'd like to keep away from programs that involve lots of getting on the floor(or any if I can help it). We don't have much room and getting on the floor seems to imply that I'd like everyone to jump all over me

Also which T Tapp dvd? It seems to me the best choice is from 3. The Basic Workout Plus, Total Workout, and Basic Plus and Step Away.

I'd love any opinions on these.

Thanks so much

I can't compare the 2 but wanted to link to this T-Tapp topic. The Basic Workout Plus is the 15 minute program .

I'm interested in hearing about NEWO. Anyone?

I hope you find a good fit for you and your family, Sharyn. I'm still T-Tapping daily with my older children. It has been a God-send for me! I include it as part of my flu-prevention and care program too .

Love,

Angie--I just went back to skim that old thread again and saw that it is over a year old!! You've stuck with something that long? I dont' know you at all, of course, but that would be nothing short of a miracle in my case. That is quite an endorsement.

Do you care to elaborate on your success? Is that something normal for you or is T-Tapp really different-enough to keep you motivated?

Thanks Angie! The post you linked was really helpful. I think I'm going to go with the T Tapp, it just seems to be exactly what I'm after.

I think I'll get the Total Workout as it includes the Basic Workout Plus, as I understand it. That way I can do the BWP through the week, and who knows but I just might do the longer workout on the weekend At least it will give me the option. Encouraging too to know that you have kept it up for so long.

I just can't wait to get started. My posture and fitness are so poor, not to mention some weight I need to loose. At least with summer on its way it might be easier to get this established as part of our routine. The possibility of being pregnant again soon is rapidly approaching and I really want to get in much better shape before then. Good to know the exercises can be done while pregnant too.

This last flu season and something I read recently has really jolted me into seeing how important physical fitness is for our whole family, particularly the children who are still growing, so I really hope I can incorporate this into what we do as a part of a habit of healthy living.

I'm still curious to hear of any ones experience with NEWO if they have it.

Ladies, my success is based on my failure. Really. For now I need to be vague but...

Several months ago I experienced a terrifying experience. Prior to that, I was struggling to exercise but working at it. (You can read about my exercise aversion on the topic linked above as well as search here for "Yes You Can" topics I hosted for several months.) After the experience...

Something just clicked deep inside. I was so grateful to be in good physical shape to face this sudden tragedy...if I had headed into it weak, I'm afraid to think what would have happened. After the experience, I could control so very little...but I could exercise! And so I did...every day...no pouting...no head games. I *knew* I needed to stay strong for myself...for my family...for the duration. If I needed motivation - here it was . I praise God for His grace!

Susan, I hope this wasn't more of a reply than you wanted . Yes, I give T-Tapp a ton of credit for giving me a program that is doable, efficient, and effective. I also give God all credit for softening my strong will and helping me to see that I need to take care of His temple and exercising is a big part of that. 15 minutes of exercise a day for me is now not a dreaded task...it is more of a form of discipline, obedience, and prayer. I can't say that I like it, that it isn't mundane...I can say that God is good and generous to give me 15 minutes a day to offer to him in this way . Praise Him!

Ladies, just do it! Really! You might even consider starting up a monthly topic here for encouragement - which I found VERY helpful. I'll join in for sure!

My prayers are with all of us...Yes You Can!

Love,

Hm. Thanks, Angie. That was a good answer. I'm sorry for whatever happened that frightened you--I think of "A Severe Mercy" every time I hear of situations like that (I'll elaborate if you don't know what I'm talking about).

I've been in a long, slow decline for several years. I'm not incredibly overweight or incredibly sedentary or anything but . . . something has to change. I have a special needs 5yo who needs a lot of physical help and we want more kids. I don't know how much more my body can do if I don't make some changes.

I've been praying very hard and very intentionally for the gift of discipline and T-Tapp just came back as an idea. I'm noticing that all my efforts at discipline are useless because my poor body just can't keep going all day.

So, thanks for the encouragement. I did all the free exercises today and I promised dh that I'd "test" T-tapp with those for a couple weeks before making the commitment of purchasing anything.

Thank you for all you shared Angie. Did you loose inches like so many others do?(If I may ask )
I have also been doing T-Tapp for almost a year, but I must admit that I have not lost the inches like I would have liked. I do watch my form, and exercise about 3-4x/wk. I think that I am getting a little discouraged.

I went and read the whole ten-page original T-Tapp thread and I'm feeling very motivated to get on a physical fitness track.

I think dh will support me going ahead and getting the DVDs. I've been doing some of the free exercises on the website but I'm worried about doing the incorrectly since there is little instruction. Also, there is none of the stretching or anything. But I'm totally onboard with the philosophy--what I know of it.

So, I'm looking at the zillion permutations of T-Tapp packages and wondering what to get. I want to see good results quickly because I need that to stay motivated. I also know that I'll need variety over the long haul to keep me going.

So the two options I'm considering are to just get the Total Work Out (about $80) which has the instructions and workouts for parts one and two plus a basic "up tempo" DVD and a "super-slow" workout. My thinking is that the TWO will give me the meat and potatoes of T-Tapp and also giving the the full workout for better initial results (I think I could do the whole 55 minutes quite a bit for a week or two and once or twice a week over the long haul.

But for about $57 I could get more variety: Basic plus, a broom set (a step work out using a household broom--this a 15-min and 25-min workout on one DVD) as well as an old step away on closeout. It also comes with the Basic "up tempo" CD. This would give me a lot more variety up front but I wouldn't have that second half of of the Total Workout which sounds great. You can buy that later but it doesn't tell you the cost.

Any thoughts, ladies? I have this terrible habit of looking at every possible combination and special offer whenever making an online purchase. It drives me crazy! But I don't want to bug dh with all these details.

And once I get it I will start a motivation thread--unless someone beats me to it!

Me too. It can be so easy to misread or overlook something. It's so nice to talk to others to prevent these errors.

The closeout products are videos aren't they? Would you find this annoying if you had to rewind to repeat something.

I'm going to go for the Total Workout because I know it will take me a while to learn the movements. I just want a few possibilities which I then get well memorised so I don't have to think too much. Then when someone sidetracks me I can keep going without loosing my rythmn.

I want a 15 minute set because I know I can fit that in daily. The longer workout is for a challenge on the weekend. I did a quick look at the other dvd's but I reckon the Total Workout will give me enough to go on for quite some time.

Also I don't know about you but I do enough of a workout with my broom during the week without it joining in my fitness time. Not to mention I would probably end up wacking someone in the head with it

These are just my thoughts, be sure to go for what feels right for you. What would you be more dissapointed not to have gotten? Sometimes if I look at it like this it becomes clearer to me which is the better choice.

What I ended up doing, Sharyn, in case this is a good deal for you . . .

I was waffling on the book but a lot of women in the original thread said it was very helpful. The book comes with a free Step Away video (in November). And if you order the book over the phone you get an instant 30% discount on anything you want so I got the Total Workout which also comes with an additional free video in November. The whole package (book, TWO, two additional short workouts and shipping) was $80. So I should have plenty of variety and plenty of hard work to keep me busy for awhile!

And the best thing--I called the T-Tapp number and an actual person answered on the second ring. I almost hung up thinking I must have the wrong number!

Yeah, it's finding deals like this that feed my bad habit of obsessive hunting . . .

Nina, I did lose inches which was very encouraging to me up front. But my inch loss has more to do with my improved posture, not weight loss. T-Tapp has helped me to maintain my ideal weight for over a year now, which is great because I can fluctuate up ten pounds, but weight loss wasn't my greatest need. To maintain this, though, I've upped my 15 minute T-Tapp to 6 days a week (no Sundays.) Hope this helps!

Susan, I'll be looking for your motivational topic! I'm hoping to purchase the walking DVD which gets rave reviews from one of my loved ones .

Love,

Just jumping in to say, I believe it's every second last Tuesday of the month, (in this case, tomorrow) that there are special deals. I made my order and received the dvd's just over a week ago. It was the closeout special: Basic Workout Plus, Step away, and a third one - 'Yes You Can'. They are dvd's and I was able to get lifetime warranty as well! Plus I think there's a 20% discount on my next order.
I've been doing it for a week now, but ended up skipping Friday and Saturday due to being too busy. I'm not sure how my form is, trying hard to be proper, but the inch loss is weird. Some places I seem to have gained, and others I lost minimally. I also find it hard to suck in my tummy... you know, baby tummy. Anyone else have this problem? Does it go away or at least get easier with practice?

Be sure to go gently Syncletica. Just increase what you do when it comes to your tummy slowly. Don't over do it. Did you get given a pamphlet on tummy exercises after you had your baby? The tummy indrawing is a good one to strengthen those muscles.

I will be interested too to see how my 'baby tummy' goes after I do some T Tapping

Hi Sharyn,
No, I didn't get a pamphlet...I'm not sure what you're referring to. Where do I get one?

Another question - do any of you regular T-Tappers know which exercise best gets rid of hip-pads?

Physiotherapy Before and After Childbirth This is the pamphlet they give us in Western Australia. The Tummy Indrawing is the particular exercise I was talking about although I encourage you to read all of the After Childbirth part because it is very important to know this information.

Syncletia, I was just looking in the T Tapp forums Mommy Fitness section when I came across this HTFS and diastasis (again!)
While neither of us hopefully has diastasis it does say what exercises are good for a weak tummy.
