Has anyone used either Which Way USA Board Game or Top Secret Adventures Board Game before? I'm considering buying them as a fun extension to our geography. They're a little pricey so I want to make sure they're worth it before I buy.

What my kids absolutley love to play is The Scramble State of America card game. Cheeper than a board game, fast and a load of fun.
They really enjoy reading the book with the same title as well.

We also love The Scramble State of America, but our most favorite (and the favorite of our Welsh friends) is Snapshots Across America. My dd and her friend play it frequently.

I am not familiar with any o the games mention, but whenlooking at them they seemed great.
My Mom just ordered Great States Jr. for my son. I'll let you know how we like it! They also have a regular edition (My Mom got it in Amazon)

Jackie,
Thought I would share my thoughts on Great States Jr. now that we have and have been playing it.
My son loves it! He is 4 and a geography/map nut. It has a state outline board game and a dice with colors on it. You roll the dice and get a card to match. the cards have state outlines, words/letter (find 3 states that start with "C") and pictures (each state on the board has a picture and if you get that card you have to match the picture)
There is a timer that you can set for various times. To play you can either have everyone keep the cards they got right and the when the first person goes all the way around the board whoever has the most cards wins. Or you can have the person move forward two if they are right and back one if not and the first person around wins.
We don't use the timer and do each card until we figure it out. Then we just stop when my son loses interest.

I'm excited about all these game suggestions! I'm going to try and play more games with the kids and do less table work -- that's the plan for now, anyway!
So what I'm looking at for geography (5-9 yo kids and possibly 17 yod helping):
1. Scrambled States of America
2. Snapshots Across America
3. Great States Jr. or maybe it would be better to get Great States
I've also seen this game: Take Off! which is world geography with airplanes ... which looks really fun but a bit expensive! Any experience with this one?
Any other US games I should look at?

Here's another I'm curious about
countries of the world
Thank you Sylvia for the review. I really appreciate it.
I want to purchase one good US game and one good world geography game. I still can't decide. So many great ideas. Thanks!

We have National Geographic GLobal Pursuit. It's an older game but you can find it used. I like it and think it is pretty thorough for learning. It is three levels of questions which vary in difficulty so a family can play together. It isn't for real young ones though - still kind of challenging. We played partners with the younger ones.

Mary
We have Take Off. The reviews made it sound great but it has never been a hit with my kids. My biggest complaint is the huge playing surface. It is basically a 48x22 laminated map that has been rolled in the box. To play you need to anchor the corners with heavy books to keep it flat.

I'm trying to decide between Great States Jr. and Scrambled States of America. My girls are 7.5, 6, 5, 2.5
Has anyone played BOTH and you can give me your opinion?
MaryG ~ What did you end up getting?
Anyone else buy anything that you want to"review" ?

The Annual Bump for Christmas ....
We ended up getting Scrambled States of America last year, and really like it.
