I'm so frustrated I want to cry. Maria's color and temp looked good at the doc's so I had a hard time convincing him we needed to address that. Even though her heart rate was up.
She has not had a wet diaper today. Even though she has had one UTI, he did not want to cath or bag her. He just told me to keep doing what I'm doing as she is probably still dehydrated. Something is not right with her and I am not finding the right words to get my concerns across. (My regular ped was not available so we saw someone else in the practice.)
Kevin is out right now loading up on whatever we think she might drink that is semi-nutritious and not too high in sugar.

Well, a mother knows her child better than anyone...I would be really frustrated, too, Bridget! I am praying, still. Poor little Maria!! Sending lots of hugs...

Dear Bridget,
I am so sorry for you all. I just wanted to mention that severe dehydration was part of the serious illness that my oldest dd went through almost 4 years ago. Trust your instincts. If you think your little one needs more help, I'd suggest bypassing the pediatrician you saw and taking her to the ER for some fluids and closer observation.

Praying that things are improving now. And I second everyone's suggestion to get a second opinion. If you don't feel she's improving sufficiently then, by all means, get her a different doctor!

Maria finally had a wet diaper last night. She is still having episodes of being cold and having a bluish coloring. I so hope it's just a strange part of recovering from the virus. She is better but not herself yet. Thank you so much for the outpouring of prayers for her.
