Okay, Ladies, I have a question for you:
I am planning the Mom's Night Out for our homeschool group for the year. I am thinking about making it a book club to encourage more accountability.
The feedback I have gotten has asked for something "light" to read monthly. No Scott Hahn or Chesterton this year!
So, suggestions please? Something light and engaging. Fiction or nonfiction. Something that busy moms will be excited to come and discuss.

I asked a similar question here but was specifically looking for Marian Apparition books. The group ended up reading Woman Clothed With the Sun. I never did get feedback from them about what they thought about it. I loved it. It's a GREAT read!

It's light and will also generate some great disucssion.
Or Ministry of Motherhood by Sally Clarkson
Have you read anything of Australian authors Tim Winton ("Cloud Street", "The Turning" which is a collection of short stories which weave together, "Dirt Music" and others) or David Mallouf ("The Great World" is a great character novel)?
But who can go past Jane Austin!

How 'bout something fun like the Cottage Tales by Susan Wittig Albert ....Tale of HillTop Farm, Tale of Holly How, Tale of Cuckoo Brow Wood, and the one that just came out: Tale of Hawthorn House. These are WONDERFUL reads, cozy mysteries with lots of fun info about England, etc. Maybe y'all could even plan a trip over there .....

I'm just now reading Regina Doman's Waking Rose. I think any of the books in this trilogy (or all of them, throughout the year) would be good for moms. If we didn't have a young adult experience like these characters do, it's nice to think of it in terms of our own children as they grow. And it's just plain a good, good story!  Two thumbs up. I haven't finished yet and so can't write a proper review, but Melanie was able to binge read it and has a great review here. I agree with all she said.
