Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'll bet there are other threads that deal with this, but I can't seem to find them.

So... what are your favorite resources for preparing a child to receive FHC? There are some lovely FHC notebook threads, and we definately intend to do one next year... what else should I be thinking about purchasing?

And one more question: when do you "start" FHC prep at home? At the beginning of the school year? My oldest will be receiving next spring, and I am just starting to think about which resources to purchase/prepare.

Last year, we "started" doing notebook stuff in October.......worked on Penance until Dec. then focused on FHC Jan through April.   I wished I would've started a bit earlier....she wasn't reading yet, and I was pregnant.

My second dd will be receiving next spring, and she's already started doing her notebook.......but she's reading on her own, and she's more independent with the knowledge and the notebook process itself.   So, I'd say start anytime between now, and October, depending on when first penance will be.

I was like you....spent late spring/early summer figuring out what to do.
