I need some reassurance. Have any of you ever had a very light positive at home pregnancy test result and everything turned out ok? I am a few days late with a very light positive again and I am worried, my last positive test in Nov was very light and I lost that baby I know it is out of my hands. God's Will be done. I was just wondering. And if you could send up a little prayer...

Kirsten,
I'd encourage you to get to your OB tomorrow!!! My last 3 tests were light positives. We lost the first baby, and saved the next 2. All were low progesterone, but early intervention saved my last two littles. In fact, this baby I'm carrying now was my lowest count yet, but I was at the lab the day I suspected I was pregnant. It could be just that you're very, very early in the pregnancy, but just in case it's low progesterone, I wanted to mention that you can intervene early with good success.
Many prayers coming your way!

I never once had a positive urine test, even at the doctor's office. Only bloodwork was conclusive. I've never had low progesterone diagnosis. Just something weird. The babies are ok, too.
I'd go see your doctor, just to get it checked out.

Mary - I also had one pregnancy without an early positive pregnancy test.. as in.. I believe I was 2 months from LMP when I finally got a positive. Not even faint ones before that one.. and I took one just a week sooner.. and I feel a baby move early so considering when I felt him move it would have been impossible to not have been pregnant while I was getting those negative tests.
But as the other ladies have said.. if you have a doc that would actually consider the low progesterone and giving you meds for it (not all will ) it would be worth it to get checked out asap.

Sending a prayer...
I have also had very light positives when I took tests at one day late. For me I didn't have low progesterone, just an early test.

Kirsten,
When I was pregnant with Karoline, I had a firm positive pregnancy test. Then, around 7 weeks,I started spotting. I did another pregnancy test (just to reassure myself). I couldn't see a pink line at all. I was sure I was miscarrying. I went in for blood work and my numbers were all through the roof. They were about three weeks higher than one would have expected. As it turns out the spotting was the loss of her twin, but really there was no explanation for the negative home test. Take Jennifer's advice and get in there and get going on early, early care.
Our prayers are with you!

I'm pretty sure I lost my dd's twin at about the same time--seven weeks or so. I was sure I was miscarrying because I had all this heavy spotting and lost all other pregnancy symptoms (nausea, etc.). I think the hormones just plunge a bit when something like that happens. I have a few friends who have had great success keeping their babies with progesterone treatment.
Saying a prayer for you!
Susan

Dear Kirsten,
With this pregnancy I have taken 4 tests. The first one was very early because I thought I was getting my period and then it stopped. After 2 days I wondered what the problem was and tested. It was very light. Two days later I took another one and it was just a bit darker. Two more days, a little darker. My midwife said the spotting was most likely implantation bleeding, which I never had before. A few weeks later I took yet another test and it was very dark and there had been plenty of queeziness as well. So, 4 tests and I saved them all and occasionally look at them to reassure myself. (I had a miscarriage at 16 weeks in March, and one at 9 weeks in August, after realizing that I had not been queezy at all!) So, you are not the only one obsessing after testing! Prayers coming your way.
God bless,
Kristen in TN

With my 3rd pregnancy, I took a test and got a very, very faint line. When I went to the ob, I was supposed to be around 10 weeks. Well a quickie ultrasound showed I was actually 6 weeks farther along! I do not understand the faint line?? But the baby was growing that whole time, healthy and strong.

My OB nurse called back and said to take another test in a week and see what that shows and then I can make an appointment. I brought up about the low progesterone and she said there was really nothing they could do and I would have to wait. . That is kind of frustrating. I may look for another OB. Thanks again for the prayers everyone.

There's plenty they can do and lots of ladies on this board have babies to prove it. Do find another OB. We'll pray you find a great one!

I think you might want to call again for a blood test(or find another OB) because you can start taking progesterone supplements right away. My last pregnancy I had low progesterone and was spotting for weeks. I assumed my period was just wierd until I took a preg test. It was light too, as were the next 3 I took over the next few days Like so light that you thought your eyes were playing tricks for the first one!
But I went in right away to the dr. and she started me on progesterone supplements. I did continue to spot for 12 wks which was stressful but I have a beautiful (and challenging!) 3 yr old son now.
And remember that all preg tests are not the same, some need higher levels of hcg to show a darker line and your hcg concentration levels may just fluctuate a little at different times of day.
I've heard from many women that says "any line is a good line!" :)
Wishing you all the best.

Kirsten,
I want to really encourage you to find another OB quickly. This could be nothing more than a simple faint line indicating another precious blessing on the way! But, if you have low progesterone and your HcG (which is the hormone that is picked up by these home pg. tests) is dipping, THERE IS SOMETHING THAT CAN BE DONE TO SAVE THE BABY!!!! I have 2 little boys, and one little girl due in March to prove it!!!! All 3 pregnancies were in peril with low progesterone, all 3 pregnancies were saved due to progesterone supplementation and early intervention.
I will be praying for you and the littlest, and especially for guidance in regards to a new OB should you and your dh decide to go that route.

It was Dawn here who suspected low progesterone with me 9ish months ago (via pm). The newborn on my lap nursing right now wouldn't be here without progesterone intervention. I went out the day we talked and got natural progesterone from the health food store. I'd keep calling till you find a doc. willing to test you. I've had early miscarriages and light positives...I know how hard it is to think about anything else. Prayers...
