I just discovered Catholic Courses before Christmas. I took them up on their special offer for the first course free, I got Shakespeares Catholicism.
It is AWESOME!!!!!! I have had the book Shadowplay by Clare Asquith for over a year and I have never read it. I am definitly reading it now, and will probably get a the book The Quest For Shakespeare by the author of the course.
This would be a great study for any high school students. Very interesting and inspiring.
Has anyone used any of the other courses? I would love to get them all!

I *love* the one on Lord of the Rings - I've only just started it, but I love it thus far! I just did the free audio download to try it out, but I wonder how much nicer the DVD would be... what visuals would be used...
Definitely a program worth keeping an eye on - see what else they roll out as time goes on.

I got the one on Friendship, as well, and it was fantastic! This one was a bit more heady and I needed to listen more closely but I love it.

My husband's intro to theology course should be out . . . sometime. He spent all last summer writing the lectures and then filming. Not as glam as Shakespeare and LOTR, but knowing the source rather well, I can recommend it as a good basic course!

Betsy, I'm getting a "not a valid product" page when I click your link. But his Intro to Theology is supposed to be out before Christmas -- at last! It was two summers ago that this project took over his life, so it's gratifying to know that finally other people will see it.

Yup, it works! Over the weekend they were having a 75% off sale, but alas yesterday was the last day, and I couldn't come post about it here. Still, the price is not bad for a DVD lecture series.
Much goodness at Catholic Courses overall, but having watched the sample from Lecture 1 of Intro to Theology, I have to say that I'm really proud of my husband and excited about a course that could potentially be a great addition to any family's theological study. A terrific course for high-school religion, fleshed out with readings!
