I just wanted to say that for the first time, as a result of reading posts on this forum, I ordered & tried the MobyD wrap and LOVE, love it! I've always used carriers (mostly just Baby Bjorn), but this is great.
One question though: I wear her A LOT. She is six weeks and loves her Moby, too; however, she sleeps SO much when she is snuggled so close. But when I put her down, she doesn't last long, and I like having her so near. Is all of that sleep ok, or may she not develop like she's supposed to? There is so much experience here, I thought I'd ask.
Oh, and it doesn't seem to affect her night time sleep, which is on my chest while I am propped up--but none of my babies seem to sleep long in the bassie and sleep hours (2-4) on me! So, I do what I can to catch a few winks!!

Joelle--Actually, sleeping is when newborns develop best. THey sleep so much so thier little brains and organs can get in all the growth they need in the first few months. My four month old sleeps for hours during the day and sleeps long stretches at night too...and he is doing great. Enjoy that close sleepy time and don't worry, she's doing just what she needs to be doing.

The MOBY is my favorite for a newborn! Although I'm really digging my ring slings as of late too. I do back carries mostly at home so I can belly up to the stove/sink and nurse my toddler girl. Here we were yesterday making our Indian feast lunch:
I would be SO lost without being able to carry a baby on my back!!

These are beautiful pictures Lisa! I am thinking that I may try this with our next one (if God blesses us with another!) The baby looks so wonderfully comfortable and cozy!

Hey, that looks so cool! Thank you for posting the adorable pics. Can I do that w/ the Moby (mind you I'm still on the learning curve), or is the ring sling another carrier? Do your older kids help you get him on your back?
He looks lovely and so cozy! Congratulations!

He's in a MOBY in those pics. I get in in on my own, help makes me nervous! Check out www.wearyourbaby.com for great instructions, even some how-to videos!

Thanks! Great site, I'm going to give it a shot. I think she'll love it on my back (though I am worried she'd be a head-flopper) and I'll make sure someone's around the first time, but now I see how help in not necessary!

For a head flopper, you lay their head on your back and cover it with one side of the wrap, keeps them real secure that way. Mark's head is out in these pics because he was awake. He already grabs hold of my scapular when I pick him up!
