Do any of you menu planners plan lunches? I read the school lunch menu in the paper and it looks so nice (not the food  but the idea of knowing what lunch will be in advnce) that I think I might try it.

My girlfriend who,has kids come home everyday for lunch, plans out a lunch schedule each month. I think it is a great idea!
I am planning to do this for next year. My dh works at home so he wants lunch along with the kiddies! 
Will share my menu if I can come up with something besides nuggets!

Yeah, right now all we ever have are nuggets, ramen noodles, mac & cheese, and pb&j. I'm going to have to research lunch options.

I only plan a week at a time, lunch and dinner. It really does help with keeping the shopping down and sanity.
What do we have for lunch? We have a really limited diet bc of celiac, but here goes:
Sandwiches (when we could eat them )--every friday is tuna
hot dogs
grilled chicken w/salad
tacos
nachos (you could also do fajitas)
Leftovers! 
hamburgers and fries

I would love to hear ideas, too. We'll just be starting homeschooling this fall (right now the 2 oldest are in Catholic school where we live now) and I have to admit the lunch idea is a bit daunting. Preparing lunch for the younger ones at home now isn't hard (other than getting it done before naptime), but actually making a whole meal for the whole family (excluding my husand) 1 extra time a day is going to be a challenge. I do my shopping weekly, but I guess I could plan menus out in advance.
Also, do you incorporate the meal prep time into the homeschool day? I know some people have their kids make the lunches, which my (going to be) 2nd grader would love, but I may find a bit scary...

Here's our lunch menus:
Mac and Cheese
Sandwiches (meat, pb, tuna)
Grilled cheese and tomato soup
Italian pasta salad
Soup and crackers
Eggs
Pierogis
Ravioli
Fish sticks and fries
English muffin/bagel pizzas
All our served with a drink, fruit or vegetable sticks and a small treat (when they're in the house).
I rotate the meal schedule and adjust for sales or weather and activities Soup is more popular on cold, rainy days and sandwiches are easier to take places.

I plan a weeks worth of breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Here are some of our favorites:
Bean and cheese tortillas
egg and cheese tortillas
egg salad sandwiches
pb & J
ramin noodles
grilled cheese sandwiches
ham sandwiches
hot dogs
nachos
hamburger bun pizzas

I love lunchtime - both of my children prefer hot lunches. School lunch prep used to be agony.
We keep it simple, and both children help with lunch prep, particularly if they want two different things. Here are some of our popular meals:
Quesadillas (easy to nuke!)
Mac and cheese
Sandwiches
Leftovers (I eat a lot of these)
Pasta with sauce (I make my own sauce once a week and keep it in the fridge)
Fish sticks
Hot dogs (turkey or chicken; we don't eat beef)
Ramen noodles and other soups (you can make extra for a dinner and save it for lunch)
I often start dinner prep at lunchtime, especially when I am using my slow cooker or making soup. That way I have all the pots and pans washed before dinner even happens.

We follow a 15 day cycle menu. I do home daycare so it truly is a help. I shop once a week and just go through my menu and I have everything listed on an excel sheet that goes in isle order of my grocery store. I know that sounds really organized - trust me it didn't take that long.
Some of our lunches are:
corn dog, french fries, green beans
chicken stir fry and a fruit
shephard's pie
beef quesadillas
baked chicken, sweet potatoes, fruit
* alot of it I use leftover meats from our dinners, and I am big on cooking extra chicken and hamburger meat and freezing it. Sweet potatoes are my new favorite - I can throw them in the oven with a little olive oil and salt and forget about them for a bit. Toss a couple chicken breast in a pan with it, and you got a quick healthy lunch.
