Those ARE very cute! I guess I need to be starting to think of all those cool Advent/Christmas craft projects! I'm going to copy this to Our Lady's Loom under the heading "Advent/Christmas Saint Crafts" if that's ok with you?

Ohh I like these...Ive never used those clothes pin doll bodies but Im thinking stocking stuffer for dd!
here is the one we made 2 yrs ago with a premade doll base Lucia
lucia day is big at our house although as far as I know there is not a drop of scandinavian blood in our house (viking raids on ireland not withstanding )
But come on ...virgin martyrdom, dressing up and serving baked goodies as a breakfast surprise- 3 of dd's favorite things!
Happy Crafting! Maggie

Okay, I have resource questions:
Clothes pin doll bodies? Where can you get these?
What kind of paint and varnish would work like these adorable faces?
And Maggie, what is the source of the premade doll base of your cute Lucia?

Take a peek at these Lucia and her Court dolls, so cute!
Lucia and her Court
They also offer free Saint Lucia gift tags.
Now the Posy Gets Cozy site had the sweetest Winter Morning post with a fabulous Carl Larsson's painting of Saint Lucia, 1908, and a Saint Lucia song too!

Oh I love those Tags! I printed them right out to save for the Holy-days!
Jenn- I get mine from nova natural- http://www.novanatural.com/
They are finger puppets but you can find non-puppet ones at the craft store a little cheaper-but we like the puppets

Jenn, you can spray anything wooden that's been painted with a sealant from a craft store. They come in matte and shiny finishes. They are usually in a locked case to prevent theft and abuse, so you have to ask a salesperson to get it for you.
When making the math gnomes, I found some little doll bodies at JoAnn Fabrics, but they have them in different sizes here You can also get bigger ones with hollow bodies (so you can stick your finger in it like a puppet)here

Jenn,
I picked up some bags of each item a while ago at Hobby Lobby (I'm pretty sure they have them in Virginia). Michael's also carries them.

You can also use these. I used them for my poinsettia fairies and intend to make some St. Lucia dolls with them too. They carry these at Hobby Lobby and Michaels.
