What kind of cloth diapers do you use? Do you do an all-in-one type? Prefolds?
Where do you recommend buying them? What type of "plastic" pants do you use?

Most people I know who use cloth diapers use fuzzy buns.. they don't need a plastic cover.. and they're a cover with a pocket that you "stuff" with the absorbant padding. The people I know really like these. (I finally gave up on the idea for myself)

I like the one size motherease diapers and also the one-size snug-to-fit diapers. I also like the motherease covers (but DH doesn't like the snaps) but I just realized they also have velcro-closing covers as well.
I use prefolds with snappis and the same covers as a backup, and also the smaller size prefolds inside the diapers as extra lining for night-time.
I never liked all-in-ones because they take forever to dry. I think I used to have one or 2 that I kept in the car for emergency changes.
I sold a bunch of my dipes when my youngest stopped needing them, but kept enough to diaper this babe (thankfully!) All I need now is to buy some new covers.

I use pre-folds with Bummies Super Whisper Wraps and a Snappi. For overnight I use bumGenius stuffable diapers.

I bought "stained" diapers from a diaper service for a song--and they weren't stained at all-really! Those that had a small stain I was able to wash it out with little effort. They were the best investment. I used them with Bummi's wraps--oh, I loved those wraps. I didn't want all in ones because I liked double diapering if I needed too! I just kept out a few of the next size up cover for the doubling days. The covers dry so quickly and last a long time--I think!
Good luck!

I use contours that I sew myself and wool covers (commercially made wraps, hand-knit wraps, soakers, longies and shorties.) I've used them for all my cloth diapering days and love them!

Julie, who is on this board, sells Fuzzi Bunz. She's also a great source of information.
I can't say enough good things about how they hold up, absorb, and FIT! I've been cloth diapering for eighteen years and this is such a vast improvement over every other combination I've tried!

I must be the odd mom out. I don't care for fuzzibunz at all. They gape and leak and just don't fit my babies right.
I use prefolds and various covers, mostly Bummis and wool soakers, some homemade, so I have bought.

I use prefolds with a snappi and bummi wraps. I also have a couple of bumgenius all in ones that I use at night. Everyone has their own preference, it was good for me to try with a couple of prefolds and a wrap, and one all in one diaper first...then I could see what I liked. I also can't afford to do all fuzzibunz or bum genius...you can't beat the price of prefolds!!

I use Diaper Service Quality Chinese Prefolds , sometimes pins, sometimes just fold them. With Bummis Super Whisper Wraps and nylon pull-ons.
My Chinese Prefolds have lasted through 4 kids and they still have lots more use in them.

I never liked Fuzzibunz much either and I didn't like the prefolds-I could never seemed to get them folded or placed right and they'd bunch up and DD would pee into the cover or be super bulky.
I always liked the fitted diapers like snap to fit mentioned above (though they were bulky) or these really basic fitteds called snugglebottoms:
http://www.babybunz.com/shopping/category.php?mode=index&cat id=2
I would use a doubler in them and they worked really great and were affordable!
I can't believe the prices of some of the cloth diapers out there-crazy!
I also like Bumkins AIOs when they got past about 18lbs. These were super convenient and trim.

I have used similar diapers and covers as Suzanne (always pinning!), with good luck. I think part of the confusion is that babies come in so many shapes and levels of pudginess. I have one friend who swore by Bummi's and her babies were shaped very differently than mine. Honestly, I would try first to visit a friend who is using something you are interested in. Or, buy one or two of several different types and experiment with them, figure out what you like, and then buy a whole bunch.

This is what I did originally. On-line diaper suppliers oftentimes have "sample packs"....a bit of everything to try to see what you like.

www.babymarketplace.com does the sample pack I think-I know I bought a few different kinds there to try out.
Just beware of trying the expensive ones-they'll be the ones you like best for sure
www.diaperpin.com has reviews of many diapers/covers that might be helpful.
They also have a forum that sells used diapers which can save you lots of money and is a good way to try things out.

I use the Ecobaby that Julie sells with Motherease covers. This is the first baby we have used cloth with and so far so good
