Could anyone recommend a bible study for woman? I am hoping to set up a regular meeting time this fall/late summer with a few girlfriends.
Any advice on setting bible study would also be greatly appreciated.

I have not used these, as I haven't done a bible study per se, but I received one of these books in the mail from CUF (Catholics United for the Faith) and they are lovely. Besides, CUF is in Steubenville...gotta support our fellow alumni, right?
Emmaus Road Publishing, CUF's book publishing has at least 4 books (make sure you go to the 2nd page) of Bible Study directed towards women. There is also the book on marriage and family Bible study by Michaelann and Curis Martin called Family Matters. CUF is very solidly Catholic, so you would be assured the biblical interpretations follow the Church's teachings.

I know Jeff Cavins has the Bible timeline, but it seems a bit pricey. Does anyone have any experience using it?

My mom's prayer group has done all of the Emmaus Road Bible Study's for women. They are nice but a little repitive.

I've done the Jeff Cavins study, and it's very good. We watched the video, which one member of our group had purchased and wanted to share and we each bought the individual study packets. Then, another member decided to listen to Scott Hahn tapes each week and report back to us what he was learning (he and his wife gave up their vacation that year and purchased every tape ever made by the Hahns.) We took a 12-week study and spent a year and a half on it. I learned loads.
I have a study for women by Stacy Mitch called "Courageous Love." I think she has several studies in her "Courageous" series. It's very nicely done, perhaps fairly basic -- it's a study on personal holiness that uses Scripture and the Catechism.

I've also done the Jeff Cavins study, and while it's a great overview of Bible history and the time in which events happened, I didn't get a lot of in-depth study from it. It's great if you haven't read much of the Bible, esp. Old Testament, and don't understand the sequencing of the major events, covenants, etc. but if you're looking for a lot of meaning you might be disappointed.
I think many of Scott Hahn's books would be a good jumping off place for study, and he really knows the Bible, having been a protestant pastor.
My parish Women's Bible study has used the Bread of Life books for the last 3 years. They follow the liturgical year and each week's study is on the Mass readings for that Sunday. It is very basic and at first some of the questions on the readings will be just parroting back what you've read, but we found that it really did help us understand the readings, and esp. to put the 3 together and understand why the Church uses them together. It has definitely made a difference in how I hear them on Sunday, and what I get from the homily as well.
next year they'll be doing Women of the Bible but I'm not sure what sources they are using; several women are putting it together.

That's the series put out by CUF, or Emmaus Road Publishing that I mentioned before. I'm glad to hear good feedback on it!
