Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My kids love the dvds put out by CCC.
We have:

Nicholas
Francis
Bernadette
Juan Diego
Fatima

I am looking for your opinions about:
Patrick
Ben Hur
Guardian Angel (I read some bad reviews of this...language like "stupid" and brat )
Francis Xavier
Christopher Columbus

My sister would like to buy one for each of my dc for Christmas. Which two would you pick? Which would you pass on ... why? Lastly, where is your favorite place to buy them?

Thanks!

Have seen Francis Xavier and patrick. Thought they were good movies. From what I remember nothing bad only good points. Can't really comment on the others as I have not seen them myself. We usually by them from Catholic bookstore near us.

They are all great, except the guardian angel one. I don't think it makes a point about guardian angels and there is some language...

Not that great but all the others are wonderful.

We love them all, except the Guardian Angel one. It reminded me of the Focus on the Family Adventures in Odyssey movies of which I don't really care for. Twaddly and rather silly, IMO.

St. Patrick is a favorite.

OK- looks like St. Patrick is definitely in.

And I guess I will go with Francis Xavier over Columbus or Ben Hur...?

My kids watched Columbus a MILLION times this year. And then my oldest daughter went as "Queen Isabella of Spain" (in a Snow White costume) for Halloween....so I guess it was very inspirational!!!!

Just another chiming in for St. Patrick. We only own 3 and that is one of them. I like it a lot.

Oh, good... I was wondering about that one. My kids love to hear about Columbus. Not many places carry that one, though. I'm having trouble now finding a place that has Columbus and Francis Xavier, though I think dd would like Columbus better as a gift, just because she already knows about him.

And, of course, if I could find them all at one site, on sale, with free shipping... I wouldn't say no to that!

You may want to check out EWTN's Religious Catalog.

Thank you, Maddie. Seton does indeed have them all, at only $12 each for the dvds. I have to look into shipping costs.

EWTN didn't have Columbus - but had many other things to tempt me

We have the Guardian Angel one - not very good IMO.

Fatima, Bernadette, and Nicholas are excellent.

Amazon carrys all of them I think - that is where we bought most of ours {except for the few we've picked up on VHS from thrift shops}

Exactly. PASS on the Guardian Angel one.

"Patrick" and "Christopher Columbus" are both good, but I have to recommend "Francis Xavier", too. Hard to pick just 2 of these. My MIL gave all these to us on VHS. We have all but the "Odyssey" one including "Ben Hur", which is the only one we still haven't watched.

And...someone already recommended Seton as a place to buy them on sale through Advent.
