Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Dear Friends,

I was just looking back over the Pope John Paul II Memorial notebooks thread from two years ago, when I found a post by Kathleen (materdei7) that I thought was perfect for this forum. Here it is:

materdei7 wrote:
Totus Tuus ego sum
Et omnia mea Tua sunt.
Accipio Te in mea omnia.
Praebe mihi cor Tuum,
Maria.

I belong to you entirely
and all that I possess is yours.
I take you into everything that is mine.
Give me your heart
Mary

This prayer of entrustment to the Virgin Mary is the Pope's own adaptation of two invocations by St. Louis-Marie de Montfort(1673-1716)

exerpt from "An Invitation To Joy"

Perhaps this might be something we should consider memorizing or taping to our computers for daily use!

Alice,

I remember that post so well -- I actually printed that out on cardstock and had it sitting up on my monitor so whenever I was working at the computer (which is probably more often than it should be ) I would say the prayer (sometimes in Latin but mostly in English ).

Anyway, this is a fabulous prayer and relatively easy to teach the young un's. THANKS for bringing it back to the forefront.....

Thank you Alice,

I think this will be a lovely prayer for my children to learn. So next week will will make up some holy cards with pictures of PJII and this prayer in Latin and English.

Thank you for the inspiration.
God Bless
c
