Oh, you "Our Lady's Loom" ladies are so talented. 
In our house, the even the kiddos know they need to take their little popped off buttons to Daddy so he can sew 'em back on. I'm needle and thread challenged. Love the hot glue gun-- though it can for an interesting evening on Halloween when my last minute homemade costumes come unglued in the middle of trick or treating...

That is beautiful! What cute fabric and a darling little girl.
Maybe that pattern would be easier if you omitted the zipper and used some buttons with loops instead? I've done yokes like that and it does take some time. Nice work!
