Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Does anybody use themes in their Montessori classroom? I've been looking at the albums at http://www.newchildmontessori.com and trying to resist the urge to buy them . I think the thing that makes them so inviting for me is that the author uses themes and ties everything together. I'm thinking this might simplify my life a little . But, on the other hand, it is a big expence and I could use that money on materials, AND they are not Catholic so I would be spending lots of money on something that doesn't even incorporate our faith. So, I'm thinking, why don't just plan a few themes myself? I'm thinking this should work well in a Montessori environment, but having never tried it, I thought I'd see what you all thought. Thanks!

We are using Montessori to homeschool our children (at least for Pre-K and Kindergarten) and we incorporate themes into our early learning, as well. I see that you posted this question three weeks ago so it may be too late, but if you are still looking into this you can visit my garden blog to see some of the things we've done or PM me --- I'd love to chat about this! :o)
